Case Study: Macrobiotica

Macrobiotica is a vitamin and natural supplement shop and distributor. With products ranging from collagen powder and natural beauty products to herbal supplements and natural remedies, the challenge was finding the perfect middle ground between the holistic focus of natural remedies and the convenience and reliability of pharmacies while building a modern brand with a hybrid B2B and B2C approach.

Logo Creation & Branding

The journey to building a succesful brand begins with a versatile and stylish logo that conveys the essence and personality of a business. In Macrobiotica´s case, it was of paramount importance to create a brand that separated the negative connotations of natural remedies through the integration of scientific studies and evidence based results. Thus, it was key to take a the idea of a traditional pharmacy and strip away the rigidity and monotony by integrating the right shades of green and creating a clean isologo with rounded borders.

Choosing the right Typography

The right font for your brand will be one that is aligned with the personality of the business and one that is consistent across all your branding. It is of utmost importance to have a clear idea of where your logo and brand name will appear before deciding on a typography. Logos and fonts can be present in web design, apps, billboards and advertising, products, corporate documents and much more. The ideal logo and font combinitation will fit in perfectly in every single context. In the case of Macrobiótica we decided for a serif and sans serif combination that create a harmonious effect and variations of the main typography in relation to font combinations.

Product Photogaphy & Editing

When selecting a location for a product photoshoot it is important to take into account many factors. We must factor in the location´s natural lighting to determine if an illumination kit will be necessary to achieve the desired effect. This product photography session was scheduled at a time when natural lighting was ample so little to no reflectors or additional light sources were used.  Prior to this stage, props or additional elements are also chosen and purchased for the photoshoot. We were sure to include many fruits, plants and even a kombucha jar as props to help create an effective association between the products and nature. Finally, after culminating the editing process, we carefully curated the final selection of photographs to deliver to our client.

Website Banner Creation

After highlighting the brands nature oriented focus with a photoshoot, we were tasked with creating some banners for the company website. When promoting natural products it is extremenly important to incorporate natural elements like peppermint leaves and lavender flowers in order to highlight not only the purity and quality of the product but also create the association with its natural ingredients. At this point it was also important to establish reusable taglines like “only the essentials” that would become part of the brand. Finally, we also tested the synergy between the font choices which work together to create a powerful contrast while maintaining a clean brand image.
